Welcome to the Lone Star Hi-Railers Model Railroad Club, one of the most unique and exciting model-railroading clubs in the country. Our club was founded by a group of gentlemen whose primary interest is O gauge three-rail scale modeling but as a club we embrace all gauges and styles of model railroading. " All Are Welcome Here". Whether you be Eight or Eighty, Man, Woman or child, Family or Individual, Z gauge to G gauge Modeler or just a Railfan in general you will find camaraderie and a willingness to share knowledge and information about the hobby amongst our group.

Some of you may be familiar with our former layout on Sharp Street in Dallas. The new layout will have the same attention to detail and wide variety of Locomotive and Rolling Stock that we had there.
In an effort to promote the hobby and also as a means of earning operational funds for the club we also maintain and operate a 12 x 28 foot modular layout. This layout is very popular with children and adults a like.

The baggage car will be coupled behind the City’s Number 771 Southern Pacific Lines steam engine and oil tender located along the Historic Cotton Belt Route.

Our club has just entered into a partnership with the City of Grapevine Texas. We will be building our new permanent layout in a Baggage Car that will be located across the street from the Grapevine Police Department.

Plans for the layout include a 60 foot multi-level layout that can run several trains simultaneously by means of hand-held remote controls. The landscape will include reproductions of many Grapevine area landmarks. With 60 feet of length to work with we will be able to vary the terrain from flatlands to rugged high mountains and make the view interesting, varied and exciting from end to end.

There are railroad themed navigation buttons at the top and bottom of each page. The Trackage button will take you to pages containing photos of our modular layout as well as an ongoing photo essay of our progress with the baggage car layout in Grapevine. You will also find links to photos and information on the personal layouts of some of our members. The Stops button will take you to a page with photographs of and information about events attended by the club as well as information on any future events. The Engineering page will have tips on building your own model railroad from many of our talented members. We will try to cover all aspects of layout design, construction and scenery. Information on joining the club or contacting us about attending a meeting or having us display our modular layout at an event you are planning can be found on the All Aboard page. This website like our club will be constantly evolving and expanding so check back often to see what we are up to and join in on the fun.
