| The Lone Star Hi-Railer’s modular layout was part of the featured entertainment at this years Day Out With Thomas. The event was sponsored by The Museum of the American Railroad and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. The event took place in Grapevine Texas the weekend of March 28th, 29th, and 30th and again on the following weekend of April 4th, 5th, and 6th. | This Holiday Season join us in Grapevine, The Christmas Capitol Of Texas where we will be part of the Grapevine Vintage Railroads North Pole Express Celebration. The Lone Star Hi-Railers will have our Modular Layout set up in a tent across from the Train Depot next to the Heritage Center. The event will run for four consecutive weekends. On each of these weekends the Lone Star Hi-Railers will raffle off a Lionel Polar Express Train Set. | Day Out With Thomas - Spring 2009 This spring the Lone Star Hi-Railers hope to again be invited by The Museum of the American Railroad and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad to set up our Modular Layout and share the fun of Model Railroading with kids of all ages during their annual Day Out With Thomas Celebration. Last years event was a resounding success and we were very proud too be a part of it. |
| National Train Day - Spring 2009 This spring the Lone Star Hi-Railers will again be joining Amtrak and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad in celebrating National Train Day. On May 10, 1869, in Promontory Summit, Utah, the “golden spike” was driven into the final tie that joined 1,776 miles of the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railways, ceremonially creating the nation’s first transcontinental railroad. National Train Day celebrates this important event and honors the rich history of the railroad in building this great nation of ours. |
| Museum of the American Railroad - Summer 2009 The Lone Star Hi-Railers our proud too be associated with The Museum of the American Railroad in Dallas. This summer we hope to participate in as many of their special events such as Kid’s Festival and Whistle Fair as possible. Their events are always a great opportunity for us to share the hobby of Model Railroading with kids of all ages. |
| Grapevine Train Show and Swap Meet The Lone Star Hi-Railers have a vision of a Train Show and Swap Meet that could one day be the premier train show in this area. The annual event would be hosted by our club possibly in conjunction with the Lone Star Division of the Train Collectors Association. We have high hopes that the inaugural show will take place sometime in the coming year. |
